I am a married (for 18 years), sahm of 2 comical kids (a boy, 11 and a girl, 8) that both have autism--and they keep me busy. We also have a 55 gallon tank,  with a bunch of freshwater fish; it's a relatively new hobby for us, but we're hooked! (Pun intended.) I love to read, obviously. My TBR pile is getting out of control, thanks to PBS. I love fiction mostly, especially women's fiction or if it has some humor to it.

I also love shopping, ABC soap operas, crafts (jewelry and paper crafts; I would love to learn to knit and sew), and cooking and baking (when not forced! LOL). My latest kick is that I must get my house more organized!

Info for buddies and swaps: (in other words, just general nonsense) Okay, okay, I know, I'm picky. Sorry! Can we just say I have distinct tastes?!?

Things I like, in general:

• jewelry...I very much prefer french hook/shepherd's hook earrings (but NOT chandelier-type nor really large or dramatic earrings). I have sensitive skin, so hypoallergenic-type earrings would be perfect. I like either gold or silver tone; really love two-tone, but I like it all. I love toggle or stretch bracelets, and have average to large-sized wrists. I like most colors, especially pink, purple, blue and green, but don't like red. I like very simple things or vintage-looking stuff especially, things with crystal flowers or with (fake) pearls or with pretty-colored glass beads, but I like lots of other things too. I love vintage-looking pins, especially floral ones.
• I would love any Liz Callaway CDs.
• I LOVE POLKA DOTS!
• nice pens--I love ceramic roller ball pens (although they are very hard to find), and I love the new Sharpie pens and I also like the Pilot V5 extra fine black pens.
• stress relievers
• I would love to try some "One Minute Manicure" products, especially the Pomegranate Instant Scrub. Anything to help my cuticles--they need major help!
• Shabby Chic decor (pastel vintage floral, english pink roses) anything, and lilac or rose anything
• anything with a snowflake motif
• Scents for candles or scented oil air fresheners: clean cotton/fresh linen/sunwashed laundry, etc. or fresh apple (granny smith, macintosh, not spicy) scents.
• Fresh Laundry (brand) fragrance or shower gel or Jo Malone Grapefruit fragrance or shower gel  
• Crafty stuff: scrapbooking stuff and/or stuff for making cards (paper, cardstock, stamp pads, large paper punches, rubber stamps--if in doubt I tend toward flowers, leaves, swirls or patterns and whimsical art, not too cutesy and no critters), glass beads (for jewelry making), supplies for organizing anything (can you tell it's a cry for help? hee) Also, I would love to learn to knit and sew.
• stainless steel kitchen stuff
• book credits, HA! I have a huge wishlist, and I can never have too many credits because the books keep rolling in. :)

Things that don't float my boat:

• ceramic mugs--have a lot of them
• drink mixes--have a lot of them, except what's mentioned above
• most scented bath products, as I have very sensitive skin
• most vanilla things
• spicy scented anything, scents not listed in my likes
• hard candy; hard candy with jelly or goo in the center
• stuff with sequins or glitter
• butterflies
• clowns
• teddy bears, most cutesy critters, unicorns, fairies
• most sports
• white chocolate

Favorites:

My favorite colors: periwinkle, lime green, pink, lilac/lavender--most pastels

My favorite beverages: frozen coke, margaritas

My favorite snacks : popcorn, fresh fruit, pretzels, chewy cookies, gourmet caramel apples

My favorite candy: Dove milk chocolate with almonds, Bliss milk chocolate meltaway chocolates, Haribo Gold-Bears, Werther's chewy

My favorite TV shows: House, Grey's Anatomy, Monk, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Corner Gas, Two and a Half Men,  The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gilmore Girls, Desperate Housewives, Eli Stone and true crime shows.

My favorite type of movies: chick flicks, comedies, musicals

My favorite type of music: early Frank Sinatra/Rosemary Clooney era (crooner-type stuff--I love the "High Standards" station on XM radio!), alternative pop, '80s music; My favorite musical artists include James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, Barenaked Ladies, Maroon 5. I would love any Liz Callaway CDs.

I love to shop! I am a huge Target fan, also love JoAnn's, WalMart, Bed Bath & Beyond and Barnes and Noble. I love online shopping just about anywhere, but Amazon and Lands' End are big favorites.

Things I collect: teapots, vintage bone china tea cups (with flowers on them), purses, cookbooks

My birthday, which I consider to be of utmost importance, is January 9. My husband doesn't care about birthdays, and I think they are a big deal, so I love my birthday being acknowledged--and celebrated--like the national holiday it should be. (But I'm not into the zodiac or horoscope thing.) My wedding anniversary is April 28, 1990. But I never remember it, so why should you? LOL
